The 2019 Award went to the Switzerland-based AKMI Duo, with French saxophonist Valentine Michaud and Lithuanian pianist Akvilé Sileikaité. They met while studying for their Masters at Zurich University of the Arts, where their friendship and passion for modern and contemporary music inspired them to form the AKMI Duo.
