The Opera Louise company performs a classical opera repertoire as well as contemporary works. Its aim is to renew the codes of opera and embrace an uninhibited attitude towards the genre. Experimenting with a new operatic theatre and abandoning worn-out conventions, Opera Louise is fresh, cheeky and joyous. The company was invited to present its production Teenage Bodies at the Grimeborn Festival 2018. The piece was based on Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri, a cycle of cantatas for five voices, an actor and an instrumental ensemble, featuring live music and movement. The piece was conceptualised by Julien Chavaz, Oliver Dähler and Jérôme Kuhn.
