Basel-based Damselfly Trio with Lindsay Buffington (harp), Liz Pearse (soprano) and Chelsea Czuchra (flute) presented and performed their Little Songbook project in Northern Ireland and Ireland. The concerts at Queen’s University in Belfast and the Portico of Ards in Newtownards featured Buaine na Gaoithe, a new work by composer Ryan Molloy. The work explored five of poet Martin Dyar’s texts, which revolve around the cyclical nature of landscapes, maternity, light, life, death and the voice. Damselfly presented Buaine na Gaoithe alongside contemporary chamber music by Ursula Mamlok, George Crumb and Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon.
