Philippe Saire is a Lausanne-based dance company which frequently experiments with elements of theatre and visual art for its productions. At the Edinburgh International Festival it performed Hocus Pocus, which was created for a young audience. The piece revolved around the power of images, their magic and the sensations they provoke. It tells a wondrous story of how bravery and confidence can overcome darkness and fear, and seeks to challenge the audience’s imagination by creating a narrative that is open enough for each child to figure out his or her own story.
